Trustees’ Week

3–7 November marks Trustees Week, a time when we celebrate the amazing work of nearly one million trustees across the UK.  These dedicated individuals give their time, energy and expertise to help charities thrive – and we couldn’t be more grateful.

At St Giles & St George, we’re proud to have 14 Trustees across our two charities.  Each one brings something unique to the table – different backgrounds, skills and motivations – and together, they help shape our vision and strategy.  Curious about their stories?  You can now explore their profiles on our new website under the Education and Alms Trustee sections.

We’re also thankful for the support from the Charity Commission and other national sector organisations who provide helpful resources for trustees.  If you’re a trustee (or just curious), check out the five-minute guides and short videos – they’re a great way to boost your knowledge quickly.

One standout resource we found is the Trustee Quiz.  It’s quick, anonymous and gives you instant feedback.  It’s a fun way to test your understanding of tricky charity scenarios – and yes, we’re encouraging all our trustees to give it a go!

A huge thank you to our Trustees for your dedication, guidance and care – especially during challenging times (both professional and personal).  Your support means the world.  Even though many of our meetings are now online, we still make time to connect in person at least once a year.  We’re already looking forward to our Alms Christmas Lunch and the Education Trustee dinner in February.
