Education Charity awards record grant

Pimlico Musical Foundation secures landmark grant ahead of their 10th anniversary year
The Pimlico Musical Foundation has received a transformative £105,000 grant from the St Giles & St George Education Charity, marking the charity’s largest-ever award to a single organisation. The funding arrives as the Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of musical education in the Pimlico community.
Over the next three years, the grant will sustain the Foundation’s core programmes, including the Schools’ Music Programme, the Pimlico Children’s Choir, and the Foundation Scholars scheme. In addition to sustaining these services, the funding will enable the charity to expand in three key areas:
- Launching Small Sounds for children aged 0‑4 in partnership with Cathedral Church Music Trust who specialise in Early Years choral music education.
- Extending Schools’ Music Programme to provide music education to younger pupils aged 5‑7 in response to requests from local schools, by a specialist PMF practitioner.
- Developing a Young Leaders programme for teens aged 16‑18 to provide a focused, aspirational progression route for older students, which will be overseen by PMF founder, James Day.
St Giles & St George has been a consistent supporter of the Foundation since 2018, previously awarding £101,000 across four grants, including two multi‑year Community Investment Grants.
